FOCUS EVENINGS

We are pleased to announce that, in response to student demand and new from Autumn 2006, we have been offering a series of small group evening ‘workshops’ that focus on specific areas of the body.

As long as you have covered this area in class, then you are very welcome to attend any or all of the classes below. In practice, this means for example that the first ‘Focus on the Back’ session is open to all students from post-Introductory to postgraduate levels, and whether working on a futon or on a table. This has proven to be rich learning ground for us all!

As a smaller and relaxed cross-level group, the Focus Evening Workshop series is invaluable if you wish to have more individual attention than you have been able to receive in class, if you feel rusty or confused about particular strokes or areas, if you haven’t practised for a while and need a refresher, if you have exams coming up or if you feel you have lost motivation and need to be re-inspired in the joys of holistic massage!

Anja is also holding CIRCLE EVENINGS for postgraduate students. Share and listen from the heart and support each other in
our massage practice. Circle evenings take place in Neal’s Yard.

Circle evenings cost £15.

FOCUS EVENING WORKSHOPS

How the Focus Evenings Work

  • Each workshop takes place on a Tuesday evening from 7 – 9pm.

  • Each workshop costs £15 for a single evening or £90 for the entire series (a discount of £15) if you decide to pay up front.

  • As the cycle of workshops is repeated every six months, you can come and join us at any point in the series and still have a continuous flow of sessions.

  • Also new are Anatomy and Physiology Study Evenings - listed in the table in blue. These sessions are from 6.30-8.45pm at Moving Arts Base in Islington and cost £20. The sessions are run by Sharon Bull and are suitable for any student who wishes to revise their A&P knowledge.

  • There will be a variety of Academy tutors involved so the venues will be dependent on who is leading the evening in question. The Academy Office will keep you well informed as to this! Currently, though, all practical Focus Evenings will be held at either Moving Arts Base in Islington or at River House in Hammersmith.

  • For more info and / or to reserve your place, please email touch@massage.org.uk.

“The Focus Evening Workshops are fantastic in many ways - not only do they help me keep in touch with my practice, but I always leave feeling deeply encouraged and inspired by them too. There’s a genuine sense of sharing the fun and the wonder of massage and this is true whether with fellow students or with the tutors and assistants who are there to offer lots of individual support. I would whole-heartedly recommend them to anyone!” John

"I really appreciated all the feedback, it was helpful and inspiring and empowering!" Natalie

"I am astounded by how such a gentle and nurturing environment can provide such depth of support. If you have anything you'd like to ask for, anything you'd like to share or anything you'd like to give thanks for then Circle Time is for you... ”
